The classic Louis Vuitton trunk being used as a coffee table is every interior design obsessed person’s dream or pet peeve. I find them to be the perfect touch of vintage to a very modern area see those last two photos from HRH Collection? It just looks so good on that raw hide rug and the light and delicate decor. While some take a full rustic route when designing around the trunk others just plop it in place and it still works. Who was even the first person to use the trunk as a coffee table? Hello Google.

A view of London across the Thames on a cloudy but fair June day. The magnificent profile of Tower Bridge is instantly recognisable. The shape visible beneath its upper strut is a set of Olympic rings which are set to unfurl and be illuminated at night for the duration of the 2012 games.

On the left a new icon soars almost beyond the clouds – superskyscraper the Shard, edging towards completion and visible from many reaches of London. At its foot, the bulging building is City Hall, the seat of the London Assembly and mayor Boris Johnson. It seems to be dwarfed by other buildings, but its upper balconies offer quite a commanding view down the river.

The masts of the sailing boats seem to be standing to attention along with the Shard and Tower Bridge in this shot.

First light in the United States

Any visitor to Acadia will surely spend time on top of Cadillac Mountain. It is after all, one of the most recognizable and iconic locations within this jewel of a national park. Whether you hike to the top via one of the many beautiful trails, or you drive there via the 3.5 mile Cadillac Summit Road, the views from this huge granite mound are truly spectacular. Compared to many of the huge peaks in the western United States, at 1,527 feet Cadillac might not seem all that impressive, but since it rises straight up from the Atlantic Ocean, you can’t help but admire it’s striking appearance.

Visitors familiar with this location will know that at certain times of the year, the summit of Cadillac claims to be the first place in the United States to see the sun rise, so not surprisingly, scores of people flock here before dawn during the…
