Tioga Central Engine 506

The Tioga Central Railroad is a scenic excursion railroad in north-central Pennsylvania, and my parents and I enjoyed a short trip aboard the train a few years back.  The workhorse of the trip was this engine, Number 506, and it definitely had us movin’ well down the tracks.  The engine was completely rebuilt in 1976 after pulling trains on the Delaware and Hudson Railroad, and it turns out that its red, white and blue design was inspired by the country’s bicentennial celebrations of that year.
